I have designed an antenna in CST using parameterization, so I could optimize it. When I tried to optimize it using optimization methods in CST, nothing seems helpful and all the optimization method requires a good initial guess in order to solve it. i have tried classic powell, interpolated quasi newton, trust region framework, genetic algorithm and CMA-ES. CMA-ES does better job as they claim but still not giving the best results for that design. i still have to start with the right initial values to get better results. anyone had good experience with optimization? you experience might be helpful for me. thank you.
