If I am using a linaerly polarized antenna at the transmitting end and a circularly polarized antenna at the receiving end or vice versa, than what are the chances that the signal is recieved or not. Will differnt polarizations at both ends will produce the same results as compared to same polarizations at both ends. If no, than how much it differs. Any good link will help
linear to circular or the other way around will give 3 dB less signal than the same on both ends. The advantage of what you are using is that the two ends can be rotated around in all axes and a signal will still be received.
Circular polarization - the combination of two ortogonal linear polarized signals, that shifted by +pi/2 or -pi/2. That means that vector E in space rotates around direction of propagation. Of course, if You receive the circular polarized signal by the linear polarized antenna - You receive only half of radiated power (in comparision with cir. polarized antenna) but it not depends on mutual end's rotation around end-end line.
