What is the difference between:

Crosstalk

&

Coupling

?
 

They use different terms to address one thing in different contexts.

Same thing really, crosstalk is always bad.

Coupling may be something you are trying to achieve, or it too may be bad.

Crosstalk - one signal interfering with another

coupling - added capacitive load to a signal

Though crosstalk requires one signal to be coupled to another
 

coupling---connecting one module output to another module input.
(module --may be single device or a whole circuit)
(similar to the ' mechanical coupling)

crosstalk --- refers the input to a module , due to the coupling effect, but it is unwanted.

coupling --wanted --try to maximise.
crosstalk --unwanted - try to minimise.
