Any one have an experience with CGH40010F transistor provided by cree company especially at the fabrication process?
i am going to use the mentioned transistor in PCB fabrication, and I am not sure about the grounding of this type of transistor? My PCB will be double sided copper, and the back side is consider as a ground. So, my question is: is it correct to use two screws through the two holes of the transistor to make the connection to the ground "back side of the substrate"? Attached is the photo for that transistor. Thanks in advanced.
The transistor is designed to be mounted directly on a heatsink as shown above. The cutout is also necessary to mate the in- and output pin height with the microstrip lines at the surface. The nominal offset is 0.06", thinner PCB need an additional heatsink recess.
I presume you are not the circuit designer, but you need either basic knowledge of RF engineering or detailed instructions from the designer to implement the layout.
