temperature sensor network

Maxim has some products that we can use for creating a temp sensor network and read lots of temp information from different locations. Are there similar poducts that you can tell.

addressable temperature sensor

Have you considered buying several small plc's with analog inputs? You can just network them with rj45 or wifi if you want. How many sensors? How big of an area? What power is available?

There are a few manufacturers of addressable temperature sensor IC's, depending on what communication format you require, most commonly I2C, SPI or maxims 1wire.

Look at TI TMP75/175 series with 0.0625°C resolution (12 bit, 27 addressable sensors per network) **broken link removed**

network addressable temperature

Please provide us some more information:
- Range of temperatures you'll be measuring?
- Sampling rate?
- What environment: industrial, automotive, consumer, hospital?
- Expecting EMI?
- How many sensors do you anticipate to have in the network?
- Wired or wireless?

If wired:
- What's the expected wiring topology? E.g. star, chain, mesh, etc.
- What are the expected lengths of wiring?
- Will the new sensors be hot-pluggable?

You can also mirror you question (preferably with all of the above details) here: **broken link removed**. It's a specialized group dedicated to sensors.
