I have an inverse coupled inductor with two coils. Is there any experimental method to measure the coupling factor, leakage inductance and magnetizing inductance?.
Short out one inductor.
Any inductance you can still measure in the other inductor has to all be leakage inductance.
Magnetising inductance can be measured several ways, either with an inductance bridge, or measuring the resonant frequency with a known capacitor are the two most common methods.
Let's assume we can measure inductance by any method.
a) measure L1 (with L2 open)
b) measure L2 (with L1 open)
c) measure inductance of both in series (adding fluxes), it is L1+L2+2*M
d) measure inductance of both in series (inverting one of them), it is L1+L2-2*M
Subtracting c)-d), obtain mutal inductance M
So we have L1, L2 and M.
Get k from M=k*sqrt(L1*L2) .
If you know that L1=L2, a) and b) are not necessary: obtain L adding c)+d) .
