Consider [ S ] is a system such that, x(t) --->---[ S ]--->--- x(at) where a = any real number.
[T] is a block that delays the signal by T.
then,
x(t) --->---[ T ]--->---[ S ]--->--- x1(t) and
x(t) --->---[ S ]--->---[ T ]--->--- x2(t).

What is the correct expressions for x1(t) and x2(t)? Is it x(at-T) or x(at-aT) or any other expression(seperately for x1(t) and x2(t))?

I would really value an explanation which can help me visualize the correct answer.
Looking forward for an enlightening discussion!
