Convert time domain to frequency domain

Hi,

I wanna convert cutting force in time domain to frequency domain by using Matlab codes.
I have tried but Unfortunately I could not actually get good results,
Any help or idea

I dont know whether my idea will work.. convert the required signal into some digital form and use ifft( ) function in matlab. neglect if it is a silly one ....
