Hello All,
I am designing a project with which I can control a 220v low power load (small light bulb or small fan) with the signal from a PC parralel port such that when the 5V from the PC parallel port is off, the 220v is shut off from the device and vice versa.
For now, let's assume that I have the 5v control signal ready from the PC.
1) What is the best way to implement this with a TRIAC)?
2) What is the best way to implement this with a relay with opto-isolator combination?
3) What are the advantages/disadvantages of each?
Thanks.
