Controlled slope for IN/OUT

Hi all,

HAs anybody of you some good articles about how to make a controlled turn on/off
(in/out) for a circuit? What I mean by that is instead of having the usual fast on/off to have rounded edges when the signal goes up and then when it settles to a desired value.
