I am wondering what is the difference between Molex Power Connectors Mega-Fit Male Crimp Housing 171692 and 170001 ?

One of them has tanged crimp terminals while the other has tangles crimp terminal. Still I am not getting it. It looking like something to do with the locking mechanism.

Another question. What is the difference between power connectors with NYLON and PBT material. Which one is better for Power Connector ?

According to datasheets, both housing types use the same crimp contacts.
Datasheets appended.

No.

They use different crimp terminals. I just found this information by looking at "Use with Parts (s)" in the following two links. Also attached.

These connector housings (1700010104 and 1716920204) support two different type of crimp terminals. One is supporting tanged crimp terminals while the other supporting tangles crimp terminal.

The connector housing1716920204 is supporting "Tangles TPA-Capable Crimp Terminal" I guess the other connector housing 1700010104 supporting tanged crimp terminal.

Does it has to do with locking mechanism ?
--- Updated ---

One difference between them is that they use two different crimp terminals, see the list attached. Physically they look different. Is this called "tanged and tangles" ?

The second difference is the connector housing side lock.

Does it mean that connector 1700010104 without side lock can easily be inserted and removed from the PCB connector. But the connector housing 1716920204 has a side lock and once inserted into the PCB connector, is it not possible to remove by hand by pulling unless the following special tool is used.

The term tanged and tangles is related to crimp terminals or the connector housing ?
