Hi guys,
I hope you don't mind me dropping in and asking this....
I'm trying to take a standard telephone handset and cut it's cord at the end. I'd like to then connect the speaker to a 1/4" plug, and the mic to a standard XLR (mic/cannon) plug.
I would basically like to be able to plug the speaker into a hi-fi system and be able to use it like a headphone.
I would like to be able to connect the mic into a standard mic input and use it like a mic.
It it as simple as just connecting the appropriate cables to the plugs or do i need to involve resistors/transistor etc.
Thanks for your help

... and does the age of the phone handset matter? I wanted to use an old one from the 1950's?
