In Thomas Lee's RFIC book chapter 3 page 97, he gives an equation Qtot = Qleft + Qright for pi-match network。

However in book Electromagnetics for High-Speed Analog and Digital Communication Circuits by ali m. niknejad chapter 7.3 page 196,he gives an equation Qtot = (Q1 + Q2)/2。

There is a big difference in treating intermedium Res, Lee uses Ri while Ali uses 2*Ri。

I would think Ali's equation is right, can anyone give some judgements?

Oh, I get it.

In Ali's book , the source impendance is included, so he uses 2*Ri。It seems like a kind of difference between loaded Q and non-loaded.
Am I right?
