hi
i might sound silly but i m really stuck...i have read so many articles for this issue but couldnt find an answer

they say for a complex exponential in discrete time ------ e^jwn
if ---- w=w+2*pi ------ or ------- w=w-2*pi

e^j((w+2*pi)n=[e^j2*pi*n]*[e^jwn] =e^jwn

i agree with it as ---- e^j2*pi*n ----- would evaluate to 1 (by using euler identity) for any integer value of n

but m lost because why is it not true for continuous time case....they use the same expression and say its different
i just dont get it....can anyone help

why -------- e^j(w+2*pi)t -------- doesnt equal ------- e^jwt ------- like the way it happened for discrete time case above

Re: conceptual querry

\[e^{j 2 \pi t}=1\] only when t is an integer.

Since t is continuous \[e^{j 2 \pi t}\] does not necessarily equal 1.
