Most of key elements are taken from rubbish (3 liters cylinder from carbon dioxide extinguisher, compressor, copper brake tubes). Pressure switch, male connectors ¼” and reducer with dehydrator were bought on auctions, manometer was bought at shop.
Air tank can keep 15 MPa. It was renewed, calve was polished.
Wooden elements housing air cylinder and compressor were connected with metal ribbons. Construction is rigid enough to allow safe transporting 15 kg compressor.
Air on the compressor intake is filtered by fuel filter from Fiat 126P; outgoing air id taken by copper pipe to the "distributor". All rigid connections (copper) are soldered due to the safety reasons, and allow high pressures.
"Distributor" is complicated. It Works as a preliminary filter reducing oil and water content in the air tank.
Device is inclined to foster removing water and oil from the "distributor" (through a tip with a screw).
Air from the "distributor" is directed to:
Manometer, with the aid of braided rubber hose;
Pressure switch, with the aid of braided rubber hose;
Reducer, with the aid of braided rubber hose;
Cylinder, with the aid of brass tube
Pressure switch media can be air as well as water and oil.
Compressor is silent: hiss of air is louder than compressor itself. In my case load pressure is set to 4 bar and reducer output pressure to 2 bar. When pressure drops to 3 bar compressor starts and works until pressure reaches 4 bar. During test maximal pressure was 6 bar.
