Hi there! As my entrance to the world of electronics, i decided to buy a DIY-kit off of ebay. This is the first time i ever assemble a curcuit-board, and also the first time i solder something. I followed the schematics very carefully. Although this is the first time i solder on a board, i think the results came out good. While in the procedure, i checked that the right pins were placed correctly.
The only problem i have is that it wont work. I have tried with the following voltages: 9v, 6v, 5v. Have anyone put together a kit like this before? It came to mind that i had maby soldered the leds with oposite pins, but i tested the leds with low voltages, and they are correct.
See the pictures attached for the finished work.

Thank you in advance!

What about firmware for Atmel? Did you burn /program/ it?

The minus pin of connector X1 looks to have no solder.

Q3 seems to have no solder on one leg, though this would only affect operation of one digit of the display

Now i fixed the X1! Kinda hard to solder, but i got it. When i fire up with 6 volts now, the four leds glow. But nothing else happens. Also the Q3 is soldered, it it just didnt look like so on the picture.

I inserted the Atmel chip as i got it. Didnt to anything with it.
BTW, how would i burn code on it?

You should use programmer
What is the URL for that kit?
Did you check website if the source code or hex is available for microchip?
