Circuit to test ceramic capacitors?

I have a bunch of ceramic capacitors in a circuit I got from a book. I'm not getting any reading on my voltmeter and am wondering if they are broken.

Is there any circuit (a really really simple one) that I could put them in? E.g. I know with an electrolytic capacitor you can charge them, and then connect them in series to an LED. Would this work with ceramics (which aren't polarised), if not could I put them in a circuit with a non-polarised component (e.g. a motor)?
 

A ceramic capacitor has a tiny amount of capacity. If it is charged then it might blink an LED for such a short duration that you would not see it. It certainly cannot run a motor.
 

I'm not getting any reading on my voltmeter and am wondering if they are broken.

You will get reading on capacitance meter.
Many digital multimeters have an option to measure capacitance also.
