Hello Friends I want to design 5 - axis Stepper motor Driver using Pic Microcontroller of PIC32mx795f512l. In this design I have use power supply 24V DC 3A and 5V Dc 2.5A SMPS.

So My PIC32 genrate 5 pin For Pulse and 5 Pin for Dir of 3.3v Logic for 5 Stepper motor Driver.

Now i use PC817 for isolation and hcf40106 for buffer output . Now i have to use AM26C31 IC for line driver and output i get PULSE+ AND PULSE- same as a dir.

So My question is can i use 1 7805 regulator for all 5 am26c31 power supply or i use 5 7805 ic for am26c31.

please help me to correct design.

AM26C31 IC need less power, it required maximum 100uA, but 7805 having 1A @5V. So there is no loading problems you can connect 5 AM26C31 IC

AM26C31 IC need less power, it required maximum 100uA
That's only quiescent current, dynamic current has to be added and particularly output current with line termination (if any). Single 7805 should still work.

Hi,

I´m confused.
You say you have a 5V 2.5A SMPS.

So, why do you use the 7805?

Klaus

I think the OP want to isolate the drive stuff from the PIC! There is an opto mentioned.

ok so is it possible my current draw in opto coupler?
because when i use single 7805 for all line drive that time working some time and suddenly stop output of pulse.
but when i remove 26c31 that and check pulse and dir. working perfect.
