object chasing robot

hi
im making a robot which can chase a moving object.....
i want to add a feature in robot that it can distiguish between friend or foe ....
can someone tell me a simple mechanism for distinguishing friend or foe

Hello!

Are you building an universal soldier?

For that you must use an vision camera with an algorithm wich will determine if the object is friend or foe(an artificial inteligence algorithm).

i am also making a chasing robot.
please tell me about it and also provide notes about it and its architecture
