hi ,
i there a way where i can define the net color for selected nets in allegro ?
like what we can do in powerpcb

Yes. Select the Highlight Icon. Then in the right tool options field select a color. Then you will have to select a net. The net will be permanently highlighted until you decide to dehighligt the nets. Thus you can go through all nets and assign different colors to them. Traces will be candy-striped, but shapes (planes) will be solid colored which can fool you since the highlight color overrides the color which you have chosen in the color setup panel.

But its not that visible like in powerpcb

You should check display_nohilitefont of Display at user preferenece to view the highlites effectively.

"But its not that visible like in powerpcb "

This is a problem in Allegro and Cadence people are promising to fix this in upcoming releases.

I think it's just as visible as Pads - the color saturation and brightness is slghtly subdued, I think the problem is it has a limited color selection with several colors very similar to other hues, if you view a negative plane with a net that has been highlighted it will not display correctly - no thermals and clearances disappear.

You should select Display->Color, then in the pop up Group, select Display then select color for Temporary highlight

That's all.
