expedition change clearnance for several nets

I have default clearance set as 10, min is 10, I want to setup a new clearance of 7. But it does not let me define the clearance for nets, only the trace width. I cannot change the min also, it is readonly.
What is the procedure to reduce the clearance for some nets? The CES tool is really confusing.

There are several possibilities for this situation.


  • When you launch Constraint Manager on a read-only .prj file, it opens in read-only mode. You should check to ensure that you have write access permissions for the .prj file.
  • Ensure that your WDIR variable is configured properly. There must be a writable directory in the WDIR path.
  • CES database is locked / read-only when you open CES from DxDesigner. The lock is held by the file "<projectpath>\CES\lock\<projectname>.db". After checking that no one is in the database, delete the file.
