I have to make power supply +30V from +5V line. I want to use ATX from PC. Do you have any ideas? Thanks.

what is the load current on 30V?

The efficiency of conversion from 5V to 30V can reach roughly 70-75% what at 8A (30V) output will require ≈70A@5V (350W) and no commercially available ATX (even 500W) can deliver that ..

I need aprox. 8A.
8ampos at 30 volts means 240watts. converted will take nearly 60 amps at 5V
I don't think your concept would be feasible
I have a dobt
is that 8 amps On 5V line?

Thanks a lot. I'll buy ready device (TDK Lambda RTW series)

If the voltage comes from an atx power supply why not use the +12V rail instead?

But I think it will still need more current than one +12V rail will give you (due to safety rules that impose a current limit on each rail).
