Hi,

I have done my pcb design in Orcad Layout. In the design, I had to connect the center pads of the IC foot print to ground. I used free via in the center pad for this. I had run DRC check prior to creating the Gerber file and it showed no error. But, the Gerber file is not showing the via in the center pad. Can somebody give me a clue on this?

Also, is it possible to compare the gerber file and the pcb layout using some software? I want to make sure that the gerber file exactly resembles what all I have in my PCB layout...

Thanks in advance,
Sreejith

Is there a drill hit at that point?

You very likely will not see the via inside the pad in the Gerbers because it will be overshadowed by the larger pad.
(You could delete or change to very small the apeture for the larger pad to see it.)

You will however see a drill hit if you also import the NC data into your viewer.
