Hello,

I have a band limited signal. It was obtained for ultrasound imaging purpose. I want to know the center frequency of the signal. But looking at the spectrum plotted by MATLAB fft, it is not possible to determine the center frequency of the signal, because at the central region the band there are too many peaks. Also, the spectrum within the band is not smooth at all. How can I determine the center frequency of the signal.?

dear;

what is the signal bandwidth? if it is even then fc= bw/2 and if odd fc=bw/2+1.

Savor, Best.

You should precise what is the center frequency. Is it only one in the signal?
You can calculate the STFT and average every frequency bar over time. This operation should smooth the spectrum (if it's noisy), and expand every tonal component.
