I wish to know what is the intuitive meaning of Cauchy's integral formula... What does it try to do...!!! I've searched quite a few places on net but those descriptions are pretty much mathematical...!!! They all talk about a disc and winding numbers and rotations etc... In bits and pieces, I can follow what they are saying... But am still unable to make a complete picture... I would be really thankful if someone explained it here...!!

Later I would also wish to know the physical meaning of Residues but not before I learn Cauchy... .. Thanks in advance...

generally integrating a defined function, can provide a surface, mass, volume or sum with different technical meaning and interpretation, in this case the surface is a disc in complex domain. Using residues theorem you can check if a specific point (numerical value) is singular for a function (also in complex domain)
This can be useful in engineering (at development) when modelling a real process or machine (the mathematical model of the behavior of it)
