Hi friends,

I´m considering develop a very cheap System, based on any low cost embbeeded ARM11/CORTEX-A8 board ( Raspberry, PCduino, etc...).
In past, I used an USD~1,50 CMOS Webcam in other project, taking extremely good performance results regarding image quality.

However, I don´t know if there are some issues concernig maximum capture rate or other points.
( Image capture will be triggered electrically by uC, directly at Button terminals )

Anybody could share any advice about this approach ?

I would ask the manufacturer to provide/sell the protocol or video/image frame format so I can process it on an embedded system without V/In. it is like implementing an IP camera.

Hi ausrasul,

Regarding image capture, I prefer if done electrically, due ( I suppose ) is processed by Webcam chipset with higher priority that some protocol command. Moreover, even if done by protocol, I´m considering to use solely standard Webcams, so that the project will not be tied to some brand manufacturer.
