Anybody know of a closed form formula for calculating the required filter order n and corner frequency for cascaded analog lag filters meeting a required passband and stopband specification? I realize that cascaded lags are usually a poor choice of filter type, compared with Butterworth, Chebyshev, elliptic, Bessel, etc.
~
Example:
~
For 5rad/sec in the passband, the Gain must be >= .99, and for 43 rad/sec in the stopband, the gain must be <= than 0.002.Given thes specs, what must the filter order n and the corner frequency fc of each section be? The formula should be able to compute these two parameters directly from the filter specs.
Thanks,
Kral
