I have an offline flyback with a 30V secondary voltage and an 8W LED Driver connected to this secondary.

The only capacitor on the secondary rail is a 150uF electrolytic capacitor

To calculate the AC RMS ripple current in the flyback’s secondary electrolytic capacitor…………….

Do I have to…………..

A….Calculate the AC RMS ripple current in the electrolytic from the flyback alone.
(and assuming an equivalent resistive load of 8W)

B….Calculate the AC RMS ripple current in the electrolytic from the 8W LED Driver
(as if there was no flyback)

Find the total AC RMS ripple current in the electrolytic by doing

AC RMS Ripple Current = SQRT (A^2 + B^2)

Do you think the above is correct?
