hi all
can we guess radiation pattern of patch antenna by looking to its structure
regards kartik

Single patch or patch array?

The pattern for a single patch is known, so why guess?

patch according to geometry if i have ground on back and do not have ground in back

Guessing requires experience. Models were created to help but they often fail. Use real testing, on an open-space test range is best.

Maybe I misunderstand your question, but what do you mean with "no ground in the back"? Patch antennas always have a patch with ground. Metal strip without ground would be more like a monopole.

as you said that "Metal strip without ground would be more like a monopole."
what exactly we can say antenna is monopole
a cpw feed antenna has its ground plane in front
but a microstrip line fed has ground plane in back
what will be difference in radiation pattern

can u explain the radiation pattern of antenna
