Can we call a .m file from c-program or vice versa??

I want to know wheather we can call .m files from c-prog or also can we call a c-program inside .m file?
eg.like i'll be moving data in my C-prog...and if i want 2 see the fft of it in Matlab....
 

You can use c written functions in matlab using s-functions
