Can somebody plz explain what does "RTOS tick" exactly mean ? useally we keep it as 500 ns or 1 us ... but what would be the exact definition & significance?

Its the smallest time interval used by the Real Time Operating System (RTOS) for doing it's time-slicing job.

Its called 'tick', because it's similar to a clock's second's hand, which goes 'tick-tick-tick..."
