Can MAX 038 be used as a PLL to track the input changes at around 50hz??

I think, this should be basically possible, connecting square wave shaped input signal to PDI and PDO through a loop filter to frequency input.

any idea whether there is any other equivalent to it ??

Hello,

you can use a CD4046 PLL, but it has no sine wave output. However, you didn't say at all, what you try to achieve, except tracking frequency changes, which wouldnt require a PLL.

Yes that's true. By the way, the requested operation frequency was 50 Hz.
