Hello,

I am doing a 12Vin , 100Vout LED driver (150mA = LED current).

I wish to use the LM3429, but its high side current sense is only allowed up to 75V.

But can i just connect the sense reistor to ground?...surely this would work, ?...the datasheet doesnt say it wouldnt work.

The datasheet does say that connecting hsp/hsn to ground disables the current sense amplifier.

There's no commen mode range specified, but a brief view a the internal circuit clarifies, that it must be at least > 2 V.

FvM, Thankyou for confirming this.

I can just bet that a boost converter with low current sense reference voltages (and both being low side) doesnt exist anywhere in the world.

This is baffling since low side output current sense is definetely the way to go for boost's.
it provides greater ease of compensation.

TPS40211...........yes , but it has a blessed "minimum on time" which means we can't flash it off to get visible flash patterns.
