Max512 is maxim 8 bit DAC with ext vref pin, it is not special multiplying DAC,can I use it for multiplying DAC function?

Mag,
Since the input range of VRef goes from Vss to Vdd, you should be able to use this DAC as a multiplying DAC. Note that DAC C Vref range is only Gnd to Vdd.

why some DA chip hint is special multiplying DAC? what is difference between general DAC chip and special multiplying DAC chip?

what the function of multiplying dac?
i just know the general dac convert digital to analog, where does the multiplying dac use to?

I think because normal DACs only alow two quadrant muliplication and multipling DACs allow four quadrant muliplication.
