Can I use an air core output inductor in a forward converter?

Hello everyone

Can I use an air core output inductor in a forward converter instead one with ferrite??
Is there any difference in the performance of the converter?

Depends on the intended inductance value which wasn't mentioned. Generally air core inductors have an extended stray field and must be expected to generate unwanted interferences in the vicinity. Eddy currents may cause additional losses, larger number of turns for same inductance involves increased series resistance. In case of doubt mostly disadvantages.
 
Unless there's something very special about the converter (needs to be non-magnetic, operates at very high frequency, or is resonant) there is really no advantage to air coil chokes.
