can i use 470microfarad 250v capacitor in place of 330microfarad 250v capacitor?

Depends on what the capacitor is doing. You should also make sure the ripple current and temperature ratings are at least as good too.

well i need it in power supply of television set as i am not having availability of 330uf 250v

The difference in capacitance probably isn't a problem (if it's bigger than the original), but the ripple/temp ratings are important.

well frnds thx for the help but my 470uf 250v capacitor got blown up after few min. of working i guess there is impedance matching problem in it as there are two capacitor of 330uf 250v in power supply ckt
i will update as soon as i get 330uf 250v capacitor.
thx

It probably didn't blow up because it was 470uF instead of 330uF, so don't expect getting the same capacitance will fix the problem...
