i can't understand your question properly.lpt port generally gives 4.8v but if the problem is that u want to connect some 5v device to lpt which draws too much current like dc motor, then it is better to connect a buffer ic like 74245,uln2003, 74244. all the above ICs are active low devices and is preferred to use them as sinking devices.
You can get 5V from the Parrallel port, provided that you have to care on the current rating. If you want to get control other circuits you have to have a buffer or suitable ciruit.
normal voltage of parallel port is around 4.2V. If you want 5V go for a buffer. but still all digital IC's consider this as logic HIGH. For more tutorials about parallel port interfacing see
