Flash reset pin...

Can I just tie reset from a flash chip to VCC?

Want to avoid adding reset circuitry just for this flash in a small PCB design.
Or should I use basic R/C/D circuit to generate reset at power-up?

Re: Flash reset pin...

Better using R/C/D to allow for sttling time of PSU before system reset.

Re: Flash reset pin...

1. Check is the device you're using have POR.
2. There are many low cost reset generators out there.
They are the best.

Yes you can!!!

Re: Flash reset pin...

Hi davorin

Most modern Flash-chips (i.e. AM29LV..) have an internal reset-circuitry. They start-up in read-mode, what is surely what you want. So you can tie this pin directly to VCC.

Re: Flash reset pin...

Was hoping for that (o;

Last solution for me would be to use FPGA internal reset generation...but can't say how it would affect the rest of the existing design (internal z80 core).
