Can HSPICE import binary data for a .DATA statement?

I'm trying to use a large amount of data with HSPICE in a .DATA statement, reading in an external file. The process is very slow, and I was wondering if it is possible to read in this data in binary format. Does anybody have any experience using large .DATA sets with HSPICE?
