Hi,

I need a balun for my project,but i cann't find a proper one.

The requirements as below:

frequency : 6-7 GHz
Impedance ratio : 50/50 or 50/200

Could anyone give me some advice?

thank you

Well Digikey doesn't like the 6-7Ghz level. It does have a chip that can do 3-7Ghz with 50/100 impedance but that is about it. Even octopart doesn't like much over 5.4Ghz. That frequency range appears to be troublesome.

what is the meaning of "balun"?

BALUN = BALanced to UNbalanced used for impedance matching and matching between balanced feedlines and unbalanced feedlines/antennas
and between unbalanced feedlines eg. coax to balanced antennas eg dipoles

baluns for those sort of freqs are likely to be striplines. what are you feeding from and to, and why do you need to feed to something with a 200 Ohm impedance ?

cheers

Thank you for your reply!

I know the chip you said, but the performance of Phase Unbalance is too bad to meet the requirements.
So,I wanna to design one by myself.

thaks.

hi dave,

I wanna to feed from 50 to 50 or 50 to 200.
The balun is used to test the chip designed by our team.

thanks.

At that frequency there is only one way to go..
Microstrip Line or Distributed type Balun.
You can find lot of materials on the internet..
