Caller ID using MT8870 & PIC16f84

mt8870 caller id

Hello.
I want to build a caller id using MT8870 & PIC. I am able to decode the tones but not able to transfer them onto PIC & display them on LCD. I don't the exact duration between incoming 2 numbers from telephone. Please help me out....

Hi,

what kind of help do you need? is it transfer to the pic or that your reading timing is not correct? Pls be specific of your problem and try to isolate your problem. This would give yourself a better picture.

You mention you can decode, then is your problem occurs in receiving by the pic? How do you know you have successfuly decoded? AFAIK, DTMF spec are very flexible and straight forward to troubleshoot, you can always press the same key, causing the MT8870 to output the same digital signal. You can connects these digital signal to led's to compare if the decoded output is correct with different keys. Get through that portion first before moving on to receiving by the pic.
