Caller ID Interface to a PC

I am currently involved in interfacing a caller ID to PC.

For this purpose i require certain circuits and configuartions of caller id and details of how i can interface to serial port and if possible even the code for extracting the data from serial port.
I am using VB to develop the application

The most imp thing to note here is that i am from india... i need circuits that will decode the format here.

also does anyone have an idea of wat std is used in indian caller id?

Hi. You can use modem that support caller-id and send one of these command from hyperterminal depend on modem manifacturer:
AT#CID=1
AT%CCID=1
AT+VCID=1
AT#CC1
AT*IC1
And modem while ring return string like this:
RING
RING
DATE = 0331
TIME = 1245
NMBR = 9543447665
NAME = SIEMENS

thanks a lot 4 the reply...the strings and code given to me helped a lot..tho not fully...as i am in india i need to use a DTMF to FSk conveter b4 givin the line to modem...can anyone help me find one
