How to calculate average wind speed from the reading of optical pulse encoder wind vane. How many measurements should be taken to get accurate value, please specify the time interval between measurements. Please help me its urgent, i am working on a project with wind speed and direction measurement..........

1. Make some measurements on your own to get an idea about expectable short-time variations
2. Get yourself clear what "accurate values" are supposed to be. Depends a lot on the application, I think
3. Review specifications of professional meteorologic instruments as used for weather recordings. You'll find specialized manufacturers on the internet
4. Apply common sense

Sir,
Actually we want to know that in which time slots the readings should be taken for getting the accurate wind direction..??
