Cadence Virtuoso cannot be launched without Internet connection

Hi, guys, I have IC614 and MMSIM72 on my laptop, and I also use NCSU 1.6 CDK.

Recently, I found that I cannot launch virtuoso without Internet, CIW window will wait for Internet for like 5 min and then give up and crash. Here is the log file. Please help me to fix it. Thanks.

I think it stuck at *WARNING* Unable to export thumbnail MPS services.

1. Please check the setting of file /etc/hosts. You may not set the IP address of local domain.
2. Remove .cdsinit and .cdsenv and try again.

1. I set PCAOCN as 127.0.0.1 as my local address
2. It still doesn't work without Internet connection. If I delete these two files and connect to Internet, when I open a layout that is based on NCSU lib, it will report a lots errors like "100 packets are not defined", like display.drf.

I don't know if cadence can run without a license. And an internet connection is required for checking out the license. Some kind of licenses are floating node licenses, which require the internet connection, to be checked out. Maybe you have a fixed node license for your particular laptop, in which case, the problem might be something else.

where is your license, and what is the license server name in license file? Can you ping the license server without internet?

I think your problem may related with two reasons. license setting or IP setting.

This is the first line of my license file:
SERVER 127.0.0.1 ANY 27000

I can ping 127.0.0.1 without Internet.

And this is my license setting
export CDS_LIC_FILE=27000@127.0.0.1
export LM_LICENSE_FILE=$CDSHOME/share/license/license.dat

It works with Internet.

1.You can try to set /etc/hosts as below
127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost
192.168.5.5 PCAOCN

2. change our license file
SERVER PCAOCN ANY 27000

3. Set the PCAOCN to the IP address as 192.168.5.5

4. Set license
export CDS_LIC_FILE=27000@PCAOCN
export LM_LICENSE_FILE=$CDS_LIC_FILE

Cadence license has 2 way to invoke, so you can use either port at servername or LM_LICENSE_FILE=xxxx/lic.txt

But I think your issue is not license related, plz clean your cds.lib file.
