when I use cadence simulation, the test circuit is a inverter which is built by a PMOS and a NMOS transistor. A DC voltage source DC=3V was used to power this inverter. A pulse voltage source was connected to the input of this inverter with rail to rail square signal of period of 1 micro second. A transient analysis is
chosen with end time of 10 micro seconds. The model library is located in
/tools/works/lib/spectre/ in my computer. The measurement was taken at the
output of this inverter. The simulation provided a error message that it
called the illegal library file.
why it can't work in my system?thanks in advance!

Could you plz post the error message?

I have simulation partially worked. If I simulate a schematic without
requiring device models for instance, a standard resistor(only has a
resistance value), the "spectre" simulator will run and provide the result.
But when I put a transistor in, which requires the simulator to look for the
model library, the simulation was failed with faults from the read-in
process. The library path was correct. I guess the format or structure of
the library file may not be compatible with "spectre".
How to solve it ?thanks!

I think the model library file have some errors or it isn't spectre model library but hspice model library. If not, do you have look the model library file? Are there ss,tt,fs,ff sections in liabrary file?

Are those transistor models contained in the model library files?
