Cadence PSD15 question

Hi,

Do Cadence still support the old Microsim Schematics in its latest release PSD15? If yes, in which product groups is it located?
TIA

Hi,
I believe cadence still gives out schematics in its latest PSD15.0 release. To install schematic you should have a valid license for Orcad capture and PSpice.
Vicky

For schematic design, psd15 can give you two options: Orcad or Concept HDL.

No, I tried to install all, the Msim 8 schematic only avaiable on Orcad 9.22!! From 9.23 there were only Orcad Capture avaiable.

Hi Bruce,
It cannot be the case u are telling. In my system i have installed from PSD14.2 CD and i have capture 9.2.3,PSpice A/D 9.2.3 and also PSpice schematic 9.2.3.See if u have license for Orcad capture and PSpice A/D
then u will get schematics free.
Vicky

I know, but it's PSD, not OrCad.....PSD is too large for me.....

Hi Bruce,
It seems that from orcad 10.0 release cadence has decided not to ship PSpice schematic.
When we select PSpice schematics to be installed we get the following message
"
Dear PSpice® Schematics User,

As of August 1, 2003 the development and support of the PSpice Schematics product is discontinued with the OrCAD® 10.0 release. It is imperative that Cadence continually evaluate its product offerings to guarantee that we are maintaining our focus and providing you with the most effective and efficient products.

You are strongly urged to fulfill your schematic entry needs with OrCAD Capture® or Concept® HDL.

As a first step, we have removed PSpice Schematics from the OrCAD 10.0 distribution CD. Should you still require access to PSpice Schematics, you may download the executable from www.orcad.com. Cadence does not plan to offer subsequent versions of PSpice Schematics after release OrCAD 10.0.

Please contact your local Value Added Reseller for information on moving to OrCAD Capture or Concept HDL.
".

So tough luck man.No more schematics supported by cadence.
But still i believe cadence has given sufficient time to all
shematics users to move to orcad capture or concept.
they are also real good tools. So i guess there should be no problem.

Vicky
