Cadence IC Tool

Please help me to make Cadence IC tool to understand technology file.
I have allready instaled this software but there are no help topic about how to load technology and work with layout tool. I am working with Artisan digital library and want to automaticaly generate layout using place and rout tool. Can anyone help me tounderstand how to load technology file?

Hi,
i want to learn these thing too, but what i know is this:

- there is a design library that contains the schematic symbols of your devices as well as hdl description that is behind these devices
- there is a technology library that contains the layout data of the devices from the device library
- you can attatch a technology library to a design library using the technology file toolbox (in ciw->tools->technology file manager)

i didn't get this working, but i will try and try and try .....
there is a good documentation in cds_inst_dir/doc/techfileuser/techfileuser.pdf

the technology file should be one attribute of the library, when you set up
a library you are working, the technology file is load or be set.

I am working with TSMC0.15 library given by Artisan.
I set the library but no technology loaded or set automaticaly.
I don't know maybe there is a missing file?

The technology file has to be put under your working directory.
Of course it would be loaded automatically once l@youtPlus is executed.
For instance; you have a project named XX, and standard cells put on /ROOT_name/XX/virtu0s0/libs. That means virtu0s0 is your working directory... The technology file should include two files; one is *.tf(tech file), and the other is *.drf(drawing file). Basically, both are provided by foundry... And don't change the color of drawing layer is my suggestion.

oh ,i have't use any tool that you listed for i am a novice
