I have succesfully installed Cadence IC 6.14 on a Fedora 15 64 bit machine. I installed the 32 bit libraries asked, but i have 64 bit virtuoso executables and libraries. I have done a script to configure the environment with the paths and added the virtuoso command. Virtuoso starts over with no errors, except for licensing. It closes returning that he can't find license.
Questions:
1) I am a client, the license is on a remote server, hence I added setenv CDS_LIC_FILE 5280@<server> in my configuring script, without starting any daemon. Is this the right procedure? The license doesn't work, i think it's because on the server the admin still has to add my client address to the list...
2) I have reverted my network interface to eth0 from the strange names given by new Fedora. In this way lmhostid command can resolve the host name. However, i don't think it's necessary, since i think i DON'T HAVE to start the license daemon. Am i right?
3) do i have to put a .cdsinit , .cdsenv and a new cds.lib in my home now, or does cadence load the default ones in the installation path? If no necessary, i will prepare them later.
4) i added in my config script the LD_LIBRARY_PATH settings because i have in my installation dirs both .../lib and .../lib64. i think that virtuoso can't choose the proper libraries. If this is not necessary, tell me, because LD_LIBRARY_PATH messes up the way linux uses libraries and creates damage to other softwares and i have to run all in a separate csh shell.
