Cable tester for checking integrity of a cable with 25 conductors

Hi,

I need a cable tester to check integrity of a cable with 25 conductors or less with up to 10m long. This tester must identify short circuit between any conductor or opened conductors. It can use discrete, PIC, AVR or even mixed.

This is really a simple project. What are you having a problem with. Post what you have so far and we can check for any missing tests.

Dear newelltech,

I know this is a simple project but have no time spend working with it. Need something ready to build to test cables. I work with industrial electronis maintenance and very often need to test rotary angle encoder cable, rotary angle resolver cable, linear transductors cable AC motor drive cable and so on. I'm new on this job working by my self so save money is a life or dead matter.

Was wondering something like a 25 voltage dividers in one end and 25 comparators in the other end. This must work fine.
