You have a driver that drives a long signal & connects to an input device. At the input device there is either overshoot,
undershoot or signal threshold violations, what can be done to correct this problem?

The simplest way is the series impedance matching. Try to connect in series with the transmitter output a resistor. For example, if you have an low impedance transmitter (OpAmp or similar), then if you use a 50 Ohm cable, connect it to the output via 47 or 51 Ohm resistor.
If you do not now the cable impedance, then you can find the resistor value experimentally.
The parallel impedance matching on the receiver end can be used too, but it can overload the transmitter, or drop the voltage.
